The history of The Smokies dates back to the era of the Revolutionary war.  The first business here was established around the 1800s.  The area was a small community mainly doing farming, but even then the beauty of the area brought in many visitors to see the mountains and this brought in new business to meet the needs of the visitors and travelers.

Much of the entertainment venues of the area touches on and incorporates the flavor of the area's rich history.  Many visitors to the area enjoy The Comedy Barn Theater, Dixie Stampede, Hatfield & McCoy, Smoky Mountain Adventure, Biblical Times Dinner Theater. Titanic Museum or The Wonders of Magic at Wonder Works.
